Data Loss Prevention: Securing Remote Data from Loss and Theft

Data Loss Prevention: Securing Remote Data from Loss and Theft

Lost or stolen devices represent one of the leading causes of data breaches, and agencies need to take proactive measures to mitigate this risk.

Learn how the District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG) was able to leverage device tracking technology to maintain a continuous connection with every device issued, which has allowed them to effectively take proactive breach prevention measures.

Attend this webinar to learn how to:

  • Proactively investigate potentially suspicious behavior;
  • Improve inventory accountability;
  • Support an increase in productivity by allowing government employees to use devices anywhere.

Background

Hear how the District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG) once struggled to efficiently conduct inventories on all their devices and protect against theft and breaches. With no efficient way to discover devices, conducting inventories on a 29.7 acre campus was time consuming and often provided inaccurate results. The Academy was also concerned about theft and the unauthorized use of devices which could compromise certain networks.

Keith Hammond, Manager of Information Systems (MIS) at CGYCA will provide unique insight to how the Academy was able to easily implement Absolute Computrace using persistence technology so they can maintain a connection with each laptop, even if it's lost or stolen. As a result, if a security incident occurs, CGYCA can protect their assets, data - and their reputation.
