Jane Yao
SVP - Benchmarking & Survey Research, Office of the Chief Economist, American Bankers Association
Yao manages American Bankers Association's peer benchmarking programs. She oversees the Association's survey projects and banker working groups on a wide range of topics, including deposit account fraud trend and prevention, compensation practices, and back office operations. The surveys conducted by her department are designed to help banks improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. In 2003, she helped establish ABA's Operational Risk Data Sharing Consortium (the ABA Consortium), which collects operational risk data by business line and event type. Today, members use the ABA Consortium data and benchmarking reports in risk management, stress testing and capital planning. Yao has more than 25 years of research experience. She has presented various survey results at industry events. Y hoaolds a doctorate degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
