"Dell is unmatched when it comes to 'below the OS' security capabilities, which includes built-with capabilities - that means all of the supply chain security - as well as built-in capabilities including hardware, firmware and BIOS-level capabilities," said J R Balaji, director of product management for software, Dell Technologies.
Dell distinguishes itself through its proactive security approach and anticipating threat actors' behavior and building defenses against "attack vectors that are still emerging" and threaten the enterprise from PCs to the cloud, Balaji said.
"We provide a complete end-to-end set of turnkey services, including advisory how do to build a Zero Trust architecture that reduces the attack surface area" said Mihir Maniar, vice president of products - ISG, Edge and managed security services, Dell Technologies. "Then we go and build out what we call Managed Detect and Response services, so you can detect threats and you can take an automated action to respond to those threats."
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2024, Balaji and Maniar also discussed:
- How Dell makes security telemetry consumable to ease operational burdens with device-level telemetry;
- How organizations can scale their security efforts;
- Using AI for rapid threat detection and response.
Balaji is a tech veteran with specialties in PC hardware, cybersecurity and software product management.
Prior to Dell Technologies, Maniar served as the group vice president at Citirx. Before that, he was the vice president of security products and strategy at Juniper and also served as the senior director of product management and marketing for the network software group at Cisco.
