Winning Strategies for SLED #3: Advanced Attacks

Hunter Ely of Palo Alto Networks on the Benefits of an Integrated Platform
Hunter Ely, director of field strategy, Palo Alto Networks

Cyberattacks are more advanced and integrated than ever, and now cybersecurity defenses must be, too. Hunter Ely of Palo Alto Networks shared insights on why an integrated security platform is best for SLED organizations to detect and counter advanced attacks.

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Ely discussed:

  • How attacks have evolved;
  • Why the best of breed defense often is not enough;
  • The value of an integrated defense to respond to advanced attacks.

Ely has over 20 years of experience in operational, tactical and strategic roles within major research universities and health science centers. He has held positions within networking, infrastructure, and security organizations - including cyber forensics, sales engineering, and leadership positions. Prior to Palo Alto Networks, Ely spent seven years as a chief information security officer at Tulane University.

This is one of four Winning Strategies for SLED videos. The other three topics are Resource Constraints; Increased Complexity; and Too Much Information, Too Many Silos, Not Enough Insight.
