"When bad things happen in the OT world, people can be injured, people can be killed, and massive amounts of the population can suffer outages, so the stakes are really high," he says.

As Fortinet's CISO, Philip Quade has responsibility for information security and leads strategy and expansion of Fortinet's federal and critical infrastructure business. He also serves as strategic consultant to Fortinet's largest enterprise customers. Previously, Quade was the U.S. National Security Agency director's special assistant for cyber and chief of the NSA cyber task force.
