Securing Connected Medical DevicesSafi Oranski of CyberMDX Says to Secure Them, First You Have to Find Them
A major challenge in ensuring medical device security is tracking all of these devices, says Safi Oranski of CyberMDX.
“The biggest problem is that hospitals which we work with don’t have a good idea of their inventory,” Oranski says. “In many cases, the doctors will just add devices and inform IT later.”
In a video interview at Information Security Media Group's recent Healthcare Security Summit in New York, Oranski discusses:
- The biggest issues involved when securing medical devices;
- The roles of artificial intelligence and machine learning;
- How a focus on compliance affects security efforts.
Oranski is vice president of business development at CyberMDX. He was formerly head of business alliances and IoT at Centrica Business Solutions.
