But Chad Sweet, CEO of The Chertoff Group, says nothing could be further from the truth. Russian cyberattacks remain fast and furious, but not especially effective, thanks to Ukraine's defensive prowess. Meanwhile, Moscow continues to downplay its efforts, as well as their failure, he says.
In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2022, Sweet also discusses:
- Risk mitigation advice pertaining to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and potential spillover;
- The Chertoff Group's free ransomware risk assessment;
- Supply chain attack trends.
Chad Sweet co-founded The Chertoff Group, a global advisory firm and investment bank exclusively focused on the security sector, with former U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff. He formerly served as the chief of staff of DHS, helping to manage one of the largest federal agencies, with approximately 220,000 employees and an annual budget of over $50 billion. Prior to that, he worked as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs and also served in the CIA's National Clandestine Service.
