Cyber Experts Aim to Decipher Cyber Insurance at RSA 2015

Ben Beeson, vice president for Cyber Security and Privacy at Lockton, will share his insights on cyber insurance during an April 22 discussion at the upcoming RSA Conference. RSA Conference is the world's leading information security conference and exposition. It brings together top information security professionals and business leaders to discuss emerging cybersecurity trends and formulate best strategies for tackling current and future threats. This year's event is in San Francisco at The Moscone Center April 20-24.

Lockton is the world's largest privately held independent insurance broker.

The session, "Cyber Insurance: The Next Big Thing or the Next Requirement?", will address the current scope of cyber insurance, its evolution, and future. Panelists will discuss cyber insurance requirements and their potential to create better information security standards. They will also examine information that may be missing when evaluating an organization's security.

"With high-profile cyber breaches happening on a regular basis, there's no question cyber insurance is an extremely important issue," said Beeson. "And as attacks move from the theft of personal data to potentially affecting physical assets, it becomes crucial to understand how insurance products will and will not respond in certain situations. The industry must have the forethought to develop innovative solutions that address these evolving challenges."

The panel session, moderated by Mark Massey, Principal at JBM Consulting, will take place Wednesday, April 22 at 9:10 a.m. in Moscone West, room 2007. Other panelists include Erin Kenneally, CEO of Elchemy; Paul Ferrillo, Counsel at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP; Tom Finan, Senior Cybersecurity Strategist and Counsel from the Department of Homeland Security; and Tracie Grella, Global Head of Professional Liability for AIG.
