Netskope CEO on the Security Perks, Perils of Generative AINetskope's Sanjay Beri on How Generative AI Can Spot Sensitive Data Stuck in Images
Generative AI can detect malicious behavior that is undetectable by traditional forms of AI, such as adversaries stealing sensitive data by sticking it in images, said Netskope CEO Sanjay Beri.
The Silicon Valley-based cloud security vendor said it has over 50 machine-learning models in production and has launched DLP and threat detection products that take advantage of AI to spot deviations in user or device behavior. Beri said Netskope's offering provides guardrails around generative AI by enforcing the acceptable use policy, including stopping queries to ChatGPT that include source code or customer data (see: Reduce Cost and Security Complexity by Ditching Legacy VPN).
"AI is a seesaw," Beri said. "It'll be used for bad, and it's a great enabler of that, but it is also a great enabler of good, which is what we use it for. The focus for us is continue to innovate and accelerate its use for good."
