A New Way to Handle Cyber Claims
CyberScout's Goodman Proposes Adopting a Project Management ApproachEduard Goodman, global privacy officer of CyberScout, doesn't like the disorganized way most cyber incident claims are handled now. Instead, he would like to see a more project management approach. Here are the benefits he foresees.
To this point, Goodman says, many incidents have been handled with what he calls a "lawyer-heavy" approach. "But [the process] is becoming a lot more nuanced," he says. "There are a lot of situations that require counsel, [but] a lot of them that don't, where it's just an unnecessary spend. More and more, we are looking for things to be handled with very much of a project management approach - bring in all the right players when they need to be brought in."
In an interview about improving the claims process, Goodman talks about:
- What's wrong with the current process;
- The merits of taking a project management approach;
- How CyberScout helps organizations make the transition.
