How to Increase Cyber Resilience With Continuous Testing, AI
Commvault's Mirchandani on Cyberthreat Response, Ensuring Operational ContinuityAt a time when cyberthreats loom large for all organizations, failing to plan in advance is a recipe for disaster. And while perimeter security is crucial, the real challenge is "bringing your business back to life" if a breach occurs, said Sanjay Mirchandani, president and CEO, Commvault.
Mirchandani explained the importance of embedding resilience into business processes through continuous testing and advanced recovery solutions and using "good AI to fight bad AI."
"AI is not something that you should take lightly, because it learns. It can work at a pace that is beyond human, and it learns your environment and attacks you," Mirchandani said. "And these are getting more and more sophisticated. It's like an arms race. So you have to use good AI to counter bad AI."
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2024, Mirchandani also discussed:
- Why organizations should test their recovery strategies regularly;
- Why continuous testing is vital when dealing with nation states and AI-driven threats;
- What regulations come into play when managing and securing AI-generated data.
Mirchandani focuses on delivering solutions for customers' hardest data protection and cyber resilience problems. At Commvault, he has innovated industry-recognized portfolio, strengthened its robust partner ecosystem, transitioned the company from a perpetual to subscription business model and accelerated its revenue growth.
