How Cybersecurity Provides the Green Light for Business Innovation
Former Vice President of Information Technology at Relativity Space, Gary Gooden on cybersecurity as a tool for innovation.If you start to think of cybersecurity as a tool for innovation and acceleration of innovation, you don’t just change hearts and minds, but can drive strategy faster to implementation than you could have previously says Gary Gooden, former Vice President of Information Technology at Relativity Space.
He adds that you also increase customer satisfaction, noting even a lay person can see that if your organization uses multiple factors of authentication, for example, you are taking their data security seriously, which builds their trust in your organization.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group for Google, Gooden discussed examples of cybersecurity improving customer satisfaction and driving innovation including:
- In a medical context cybersecurity embedded into all infrastructure became an innovation tool, allowing researchers access to permissioned data;
- How in autonomous driving or connected medical devices, the consumer wants to know they are protected from attack;
- When using generative AI, cybersecurity plays a key role in protecting that data – allowing innovation, while the AI can also be used to enable defenders to react faster to threats.
