'Digital Climate Change': An Inconvenient Truth

Too many organizations continue to use digital assets and infrastructure even when they can see proof of the "digital icecap" melting, says cybersecurity expert John Walker.

"We still don't accept that we have a problem, so what I'm comparing is ice melting to wires melting," he says, noting that this has to do with communication failures. "The message going from below to higher authority needs to be more succinct."

But in this era of data and IT security - more recently known as cybersecurity and digital transformation - it's also more important for organizations to look beyond governance, compliance and regulations toward business strategies and technologies that they can implement to see them through the long term, he says.

In a video interview at Information Security Media Group's recent Cybersecurity Summit in London, Walker discusses:
