For instance, "there are new treatments being explored and looked at, and there's a new vaccine called Novavax that will very likely be approved," she says.
But in the meantime, new cases involving COVID-19 are spiking again throughout most of the U.S. and different regions in globe, she says.
"We're sort of in this odd transition where the rest of the world has moved on. … But what that means is that we have a lot more infection and the opportunity for new variants."
