Johannes founded his first company in 1990 - an IT-Security and training company whilst studying physics. He graduated from university with a master degree in semiconductor physics in 1992 (was part of the team that researched the basics for white LED's). Then went into insurance and reinsurance underwriting; he focused most of the last 33-years on high-tech topics including software insurance which gradually developed into what is now called cyber insurance. During the last three decades he lived on 3 different continents (Europe, North America, South-East Asia) and worked world-wide. He also supported a number of start-ups in the arena of high-tech insurance. Since 2019 he works for Helvetia, one of the largest Swiss Insurers and leads a team of underwriters dealing with "special" transactions, larger cyber risks and is part of the development team for cyber insurance. He is a passionate nature photographer plus he is a board member of an organization that organizes training for disabled people to enable them entering the primary employment market in Germany.
