Meet GovInfoSecurity.com's Advisory Board
The Board of Advisors for GovInfoSecurity.com provide vital insight to the issues and events that shape Information Security programs and regulatory compliance efforts at credit unions. Knowing what’s important to banking professionals is key to providing the information and news coverage needed by the financial services industry. With these advisors’ perspectives, we here at GovInfoSecurity.com now have a “finger on the pulse” of the industry. With their feedback and advice we will pinpoint the most important issues facing credit unions today. The members of GovInfoSecurity.com’s Advisory Board are from every region of the country, and represent a wide range of asset sizes of credit unions. Kevin Davies VP Professional Development Credit Union Executives Society (CUES) Madison, WI Davies is responsible for shaping CUES’ conferences, institutes, and meetings from conceptualization through implementation as well as assisting with the product and service development initiatives. He has a Ph.D. from Capella University, an MBA from Rockford College, and a BS in Communications/Journalism, University of Wisconsin – Madison. Thelma Dell Information Security Officer Teacher’s Credit Union South Bend, IN Dell is the ISO at Teachers Credit Union (TCU). TCU is Indiana's largest credit union, and serves more than 200,000 members from branches spanning Indiana and Michigan. Prior to joining TCU, Dell served as the information security administrator for Chicago-based Alliant Credit Union. Dell joined Alliant after working as a field security analyst for TruSecure, which has since merged with Cybertrust. She has a BS from Eastern Michigan University and holds a CISM certification. Melinda Edmunds Operation Manager Congressional FCU Washington, DC Edmunds is Vice President of Branch and Internal Services at Wright Patman Congressional Federal Credit Union and has been at the credit union for 16 years. She is responsible for the leadership and management of the branch staff on Capitol Hill, Oakton, mail payment facility, records area and all of the equipment and supplies that are in the credit union. She has been the Chairman of the Credit Committee for five years, and a member of the Asset Liability Management team for three years. Edmunds is strategically involved in all aspects of the credit union. One major accomplishment has been the development of staff that provides an elite level of member service to a very special field of the membership (U. S. House of Representatives). Robert Gibboni VP Risk Management Arizona State Credit Union Phoenix, AZ Gibboni has more than 25 years of diversified experience in the financial services industry and in public accounting. Areas of experience include audit, fraud investigations, loss prevention, security, and regulatory compliance. He is a CPA and a member of several professional organizations supporting the financial services industry. Connie Kelkenberg VP of Auditing/Compliance Cornerstone Community FCU Lockport, NY Kelkenberg has been with Cornerstone Community FCU since 1971. She worked in accounting and data processing before moving into management. In 1995 she was promoted to Internal Auditor and as VP of Auditing/Compliance oversees all auditing and compliance actions. She is also the Security Officer. In 2000 she became a National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) Certified Compliance Officer. Margaret V. Miller, CFSA, CUCE, CBM Sr. Vice President Audit & Compliance South Carolina Federal Credit Union North Charleston, SC Miller has been with South Carolina Federal Credit Union for more than nine years. Current designations include Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA), Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) and a Certified Business Manager. Miller has more than 25 years in financial services and holds a bachelor’s degree from Radford University. Ron Simmons, CISSP, GCIA, GCIH, GCWN Security Systems Administrator San Diego County Credit Union Simmons is the Security Systems Administrator at San Diego County Credit Union, and is responsible to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of member information within the credit union. Prior to this, Ron worked in Information Security in several other industries including, insurance, hosting, and consulting. Ron has more than 8 years experience in the information security field covering areas such as, security policies and procedures, designing secure architectures, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and security incident management. Ron currently holds a CISSP certification and several GIAC silver certifications. Laurel Ward Compliance Officer Cedar Point FCU Lexington Park, MD Ward has more than 16 years of experience in the financial services industry, focused in the areas of compliance and audit. She holds an NCCO certification, She also is the manager of the IT department at Cedar Point. |
